Your MCP Server URL

Your connection URL is your API key appended to the base MCP URL:

https://mcp.vebapi.com/mcp?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY

Replace YOUR_API_KEY with the key from your dashboard. This single URL is all you need to connect.

Add Custom Connector in Claude

In Claude Desktop, click Customize (bottom-left) → Connectors → click the + button → Add custom connector.

Do I need to install anything?

No installation required! VebAPI MCP uses a remote server URL — just paste it into your AI tool's MCP settings. No npx, no Node.js, no packages to install. It works directly in Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP-compatible client.

Which AI programs support MCP?

MCP is supported by Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, Continue.dev, and many other AI tools. The list is growing rapidly. Any client that supports the MCP standard can connect to VebAPI.

Does MCP cost extra?

No. MCP access is included in every VebAPI plan. Each tool call uses 1 API credit — exactly the same as calling our REST API. You can start with 100 free credits by signing up.

Is my API key safe?

Yes. Your API key is stored only in your local configuration file on your machine. It's sent directly to VebAPI's servers over HTTPS — your AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) never sees your key.

Can I use MCP with ChatGPT?

ChatGPT doesn't natively support MCP yet. However, you can use VebAPI's MCP with ChatGPT Desktop through third-party MCP bridges, or use our regular REST API with ChatGPT's custom GPT actions. Claude Desktop and Cursor have the best native MCP support currently.

What happens if the connection fails?

If the MCP connection fails, check: (1) Your API key is correct, (2) Node.js is installed, (3) You have internet access. You can also test your API key by visiting your dashboard and trying a test call. If issues persist, contact our support team.
